Update: July 31, 2008
Prosecutors this week formally charged a former Brevard County teacher
with 25 felonies and two misdemeanors in connection with a series of
alleged sexual trysts with two students.
Adrienne Laflamme, 60, is being held at the Brevard County jail
without bond on charges that she had sex with a 17-year-old male
student soon after his release from the Juvenile Detention Center in
Sharpes, where she taught science for about eight years.
Laflamme resigned from her teaching position July 14, a schools
spokesman said.
Originally arrested on 15 counts of unlawful sex with a minor,
prosecutors added five additional counts of unlawful sex with the teen
and charged Laflamme with lewd and lascivious conduct, exhibition,
battery and molestation of a 14-year-old she allegedly engaged in a
threesome with herself and the older boy.
She is also charged with providing the 17-year-old with marijuana, a
felony, and one misdemeanor count each of contributing to the
delinquency of a minor and filing a false police report, said
prosecutor Julia Lynch.
Laflamme let the 17-year-old use her vehicle when she went on vacation
but when she realized she was under investigation, police said she
falsely reported to police that her vehicle had been stolen and told
the boy to lie about the affair.
