Teacher Charged With Sexual Assault

A Baldwin County High School teacher faces a sexual-assault charge for
allegedly having sex with a student.
According to a Georgia Bureau of Investigation news release, Alison
Diane Ivey, 28, of Milledgeville, turned herself in at the Baldwin
County jail Thursday afternoon after an arrest warrant was issued.
She is a marketing teacher.
Baldwin school superintendent Gene Trammell said Ivey is on paid leave
while the case is being investigated.
He said Ivey has worked for the school district since August 2005 and
that there were no previous complaints against her.
He said Ivey's mother, Judy Ivey, is a member of the Baldwin County
board of education.
Tom Davis, a Milledgeville deputy police chief, said the case remains
under investigation and no further information is available. He said
the youth involved is a male Baldwin County High student, but did not
know his age or grade.
The Milledgeville Police Department and the Milledgeville GBI office
are investigating.
Ivey was released on $25,000 bond Thursday night.
